The Race Across France reaches the 1,000 registrations!

THE ULTIMATE ULTRA-DISTANCE CYCLING EVENT
Since 2018, the Race Across France has come a long way. There were 48 on the start line for the 1st edition. In 2022, there will be more than 1,000! Ultra-distance cycling is taking off with enthusiasts who share the DNA of the discipline: surpassing oneself, seeking introspection, a desire for adventure and travel, and a connection with the environment and nature.

The Race Across France has quickly become the reference race in this sector. Its organisation allows participants to experience an extraordinary human and sporting adventure, where they ride on routes that are as beautiful as they are difficult, in order to enjoy the sensations of finishing such a challenge.

With the aim of making the practice of ultra-distance accessible to all, the Race Across France offers 4 distances (300 km, 500 km, 1000 km and 2500 km) and 2 formats (with or without personal assistance), which allows cyclists from very different backgrounds to register. “We are seeing a lot of first-time participation in ultra-distance on the 300 and 500 km routes. These distances are accessible to regular cyclists or sportsmen who want to challenge themselves for the first time on an ultra“, says Arnaud Manzanini, Race Director.

The Race Across France is an event that brings more and more women to the start line. In 2021, 15% of the participants were women, and in 2022 the organisation hopes to attract more than 20% of women. “We want to promote the participation of women, who are becoming more and more interested in cycling. We are working on the visibility of women’s cycling, in particular with female ambassadors in this sport, to show all women that ultra-distance cycling is also for them,” explains Arnaud Manzanini.

NEW FEATURES ON THE 5th EDITION

In 2022, the Race Across France will celebrate its 5th edition from Saturday 18th to Tuesday 28th June 2022, and for the occasion revisits the routes that are proposed to the participants. This year, the riders will ride from North to South. The participants of the 2,500 km long queen distance will start from Le Touquet-Paris Plage on Saturday 18 June, to reach the Mediterranean coast in Mandelieu-la-Napoule within 10 days.
On the menu of the 4 routes, there will be a lot of altitude changes of course, with many mythical passes in the Alps, but also magical places that make up the beauty of France: Mont-Saint-Michel, the Château de Chambord, the Gorges de la Nesque, the Mont Ventoux, the Grasse region, etc. To celebrate all the finishers and to create a real ultra-distance cycling festival, the riders of the 4 distances will finish on the same finish line, in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, from 23 to 26 June.
This 5th anniversary will allow us to highlight ultra-distance cycling and its philosophy, which tends to attract more and more lovers of nature and endurance sports.
